PERSONAL SPACE

PERSONAL SPACE
(2008)

*Permanent collection of Swiss National Museum (Zurich)

My neighbour from the flat below would frequently bang on their ceiling to complain about the noise.

The inner side of the ring rubs against my bare skin, invading my personal space—it’s not always comfortable when someone tries to get too intimate.

This set of three jewellery pieces represents the concept of personal space. The ring, the smallest, symbolizes the closest proximity to the skin. The bangle offers more space around the wrist, while the necklace provides the most space, causing the least irritation.

*Nominated, New Traditional Jewellery 2008, Sieraad Art Fair
